We ventured to SCRAP (SF’s Scroungers Center for Reusable Art Parts) to collect materials for the next project of the term: Transformed Treasures. They faced a challenge very similar to an episode of Project Runway. The challenge: in 20 minutes, students had to select a lot of one type of object, collecting everything in paper bags and – here’s the kicker – only spending $5 or less.
So far, we have been looking at the work of Tara Donovan, Tom Friedman, Cornelia Parker and Tony Cragg for inspiration.
