Bay’s 15th Birthday Celebrations, held March 23, gave the Bay community of current and alumni families, past and present staffulty, trustees, and friends a day and night to remember. The Bay community came together for a day marked by blue skies and paella and an evening filled with karaoke, generosity, and laughter to celebrate our school’s 15th year. Record numbers of Bay students, parents, alumni families, past and present staffulty, and founding leaders gathered to celebrate this milestone for our school.
In the morning, 500 Bay friends reconnected on campus at the 15th Birthday Block Party. Families came out with kids of all ages and, in true Bay fashion, dogs of all sizes as well. The reunions among alumni, past and present faculty, alumni parents, and founders—and the stories they shared about Bay memories, alumni college experiences, and their lives today—reflected the strength of our community’s diverse lives and paths.
Watching panel discussions featuring alumni, founding staffulty, and founding leaders, guests learned new stories of the early days. It was clear that the consistent values of authenticity, kindness, entrepreneurial spirit, and sense of humor that characterize our community were shaped in no small part by the precepts and traditions created by Bay’s pioneering leaders, teachers, and students.
The joy of our entire community was on full display as well, through the Alumni Art Gallery, Courtyard games, chalk memory wall, the live music performed by Bay’s Jazz Club, service opportunities, and the omnipresent generosity and laughter. The Block Party culminated with paella for all, a massive 15th Birthday cake created by parents and students, and a new Breaker mascot reveal on Keyes Avenue.
Continuing the festivities Saturday night, nearly 300 parents and staffulty attended the Bay Splash 15th Birthday Bash at Bimbo’s, Bay’s annual community fundraising event. With guests dressed in ensembles evoking their best age 15 look, dancing and karaoke and spirits running high, Bay enjoyed record-setting generosity in the auction and fund-a-need paddle raise, capping off a milestone day for our community.
Bay is grateful for the exceptional volunteers who donated their time and talent to planning and executing every detail of these events with infinite creativity. Thank you, Bay, for a spectacular day and night of community celebration.
