Conversations: Hope for African Children

Ugandan Keneth Kiyija spoke to the Bay community Friday about his nonprofit organization benefitting orphans of the AIDS epidemic called Hope for African Children or HAC Uganda. During Morning Meeting, members of the International Aid Club screened this YouTube video, which explains how a series of events including the loss of his father and sister, repeated visits to his grandmother’s town in Uganda and life-saving open-heart surgery in San Francisco led Keneth to found the organization. During lunch, Keneth shared information about HAC and answered student questions about his cause, his personal experience and social issues such as family life and adoption.
