This term flew by.
Students in the art studio explored materials.
Students learned about new artists and techniques.
They engaged in dialogues about the meaning of art, and who they are as makers.
Both drawing classes visited local museums, and responded to new art forms and new ways of making art. Students developed strong portfolios that serve as records and archives. Hopefully they will continue adding to these portfolios over time.
The Drawing 1b students ended the term with “Portfolio Conversations.”
Each student was asked to invite another teacher to come into the studio to view and talk about the work created over the course of the term.
Each conversation lasted 20 minutes, and it was an exciting way for students to get feedback on their work.
Beautiful work!
